The painted Lady
The painted Lady
This building was once the home to a gentlemen’s club called “The Bunny Club.” The club operated from the early 70’s into the 80’s until it caught fire and closed in 1983. After sitting vacant for 2 years, the Marquis II began operating here in 1985.
During renovations in 2011, this painting was found behind the wall next to the front door. Its purpose was to welcome all to the club. She is the only thing that survived The Bunny Club fire.
There have been many occasions in the late hours that voices can be heard speaking, or furniture and objects will move in the bar on their own. We have always attributed these random and mysterious events to the Painted Lady.
