This piano was purchased by former owners Trudy and Rosemary in the mid 1980’s. The two women were gun enthusiasts and went to the Houston Gun Show every year. A young man named “Davey” played this piano at the show and was looking to sell it one year because he’d be moving. Trudy and Rosemary had always wanted a piano for the Marquis II because the original location they worked, in the 1950’s, had one. They decided to buy it.
When Trudy was retelling the story to me, I asked if she remembered “Davey’s” last name, so I could track him down and let him know we still had his piano.
“Yes, I do,” she said.
He was “Little Davey Koresh.”
